|The impact of a mixed-mode further degree aimed at teachers' professional work-based learning|
Graduates from the IOE Master of Teaching (MTeach) course formed the basis for a previous WLE study on the merit and impact of various forms of professional learning on teachers' professional practice. This project, two years on from the original one, will examine the extent to which the MTeach course has had an ongoing impact, if at all, on these teachers' current practice. In particular, the study will consider if/how the interdisciplinary nature of the MTeach has enabled the graduates to maintain a critically informed disposition, whereby they challenge constructively the dominant ‘teaching and learning' discourse of teacher as curriculum deliverer. This consideration will be framed in a comparison between the interdisciplinary, online networked learning community of the MTeach and the professional learning that takes place for these teachers in their workplace and elsewhere.
